Even if not….God is still good.

In the book of Daniel, when the Hebrew children were being prepared to enter the fiery furnace for not submitting to a secular king, they faced it with hearts full of faith and without fear.

They didn’t skip into their possible demise overly optimistic declaring God WOULD deliver them, nor did they enter in with the negative outlook of a sorrowful death while taking a stand.

Nope.

They looked at it realistically and with faith knowing God COULD, but….(key word BUT)…even if their Heavenly Father chose not to deliver them, He was still a good, faithful and loving Father whom they would then be dwelling with in Heaven. They knew He would use this single moment in time to bring about an even greater and bigger purpose for the honor and glory of His Kingdom.

Oh, that we would face the battles, mountains and fiery furnaces of our lives with such relentless faith. Instead of bowing to the enemy, succumbing to the pressures of this world, buckling under the weight of our burdens, questioning why things are happening this way (or why not)….what if we simply stood, hands and heads lifted high and declared “Even if not….God is still good and deserving of our endless praise!”

We know God can rescue us, but even if He allows us to be thrown into the fire and consumed, He is still good, and He alone is worthy of our praise.

Friends, whatever fires are burning in your lives today, stand firm and faithful. Don’t let the enemy whisper lies of defeat or deception driving you to question our Father’s goodness and love.

He is still good even if we are not.
