So often we get consumed with “self” and lose sight of God’s purpose for our lives. We focus so much on our struggles, our wants and our needs that we totally disregard our role in this journey He has sent us on. We weren’t created for ourselves. We were made for more.
Stop looking down and look up. Shift your focus away from what you’re going through and onto how God can use it. I’ve learned through so many circumstances that this journey is not about me but about the innumerable people I have met and the lesson He is teaching through the story He’s writing for my life.
Maybe your struggle, your story was meant to change someone’s life. Maybe your testimony was meant to bring someone closer to God...to give them hope. Maybe your friendship was meant to help someone fight their battle. Maybe you were made for so much more....
Next time you feel consumed or as if you’re drowning in a never ending struggle and life of discontentment, look up. There’s a purpose.
You, your life, your journey, it’s not a coincidence. It’s not a disaster....and it’s not about you. It truly is about so much more. Don’t dwell on self. Instead focus on the Father and let Him open your eyes to how you can serve Him and others through your story. It may be just the miracle someone else was praying for...and through others miracles, He’ll move in your heart and life as well.
May your cup runneth over.
