Surrender and step out on the water…

Life is so distracting and overwhelming at times. Our circumstances, our jobs, our families, our busy schedules, the things that happen or don’t happen, the things we want and need, our loneliness, our doubts, our health……we allow all of it to to pull our hearts and minds away from the One who is in control of it all. The One who can call us out on the water among the crashing waves to Him. All we have to do is surrender, step out in faith and stay focused on Him.
When we take our eyes off of the Savior, that is when we begin to sink. It’s not easy in our human flesh to trust that which we cannot see, a result we aren’t sure of, the unknown…but what we can do is remember the promises given by Him in His word. He will never leave us nor forsake us. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. He provides. Guides. Restores. Heals. Loves. We just have to surrender.
Father today I lay it all at Your feet. The worries I carry each day. The unknown. The depression. The anger. The hurt. The loss. The fear. The list of burdens I battle within my heart. I lay it all down, I give it to You. Lord I trust that when You are calling me out onto the water with You, that if I fix my gaze solely on You rather than the raging waters around me, that You’ll lead me where I cannot go alone. With the world there will be troubles, but You have overcome the world, death, hell and the grave. Help me to walk with You, toward You and beside You each day. Help me to just be still. Father, thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness when it is so undeserved. Thank You for the provision and protection You offer and most importantly, thank You for Your precious Son who came and willingly died for me. Help me to not take a second of this life for granted and to live it all for You! In Jesus name…amen.
