This is the day…

If you’re reading this, it means God woke you up again today. What a gift! He chose to have you here once again, because He has a purpose for you today.

Just let that sit and saturate for a moment. The creator of all things CHOSE YOU to be part of His creation. He CHOSE YOU to be part of His purpose. He CHOSE YOU.

Too often we wake up, feet hit the floor and the first thing we do is start the mundane tasks of the day. We quickly shift into high gear and rush through the duties, the to-do lists, the necessities. Before we know it, we’re in bed at the end of the day, exhausted, usually flustered and replaying all of the “oh-no’s” or the unfinished parts from the day. We go to sleep only to anticipate waking up to do it all over again.

Oh how complacent and ungrateful we get. How much we take for granted.

Today….some did not wake up. Some will not complete this day. That is why today is a gift! It isn’t given so that we will live it in routine fashion. It isn’t a gift to be filed away as “just another day.” It’s the gift of the present!

We get one more chance to live out God’s calling on our lives. He gives us another day to walk in His will and for Him to write one more page in our story. It is one more day to fulfill His purpose and bring Him glory.

We should be thankful He woke us up today. Even if we dislike the routine or the tasks. We should wake up and thank Him for the gift of life and for the precious honor He gives us to praise Him one more day.

Today, be thankful for the gift of life. Be thankful that God has hand chosen you to fulfill His divine and unique purpose through you! Be thankful He has blessed you with opportunities to share His love and light with others. Thank Him for the grace and mercy He so freely pours out on us even when we are undeserving. God is so good! He is so faithful! We should live as such everyday.

Today….choose Him. Live for Him. Walk with Him. Find joy in Him. This is the day that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.
