To heal..
. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines the word "heal" as: : to become healthy or well again : to make (someone or something) healthy or well again : to make sound or whole : to restore to original purity or integrity
Anyone who has ever had a wound or illness knows that real healing takes time. It's not the same for everyone. For one person it may take weeks, for another months, or someone else even years.
The beauty of it is that the healing will always come. You just have to have faith, and give it time.
I love the words used in the definition. All are so promising and hopeful for complete restoration. Just as the body can be restored when it is ill or injured, so can the heart, mind and spirit...so can the broken situations you may find yourself experiencing. The positive thing about an injury is that you have to work harder to recover. You grow throughout the healing process and become stronger in order to return to your ‘original’ state. Many times, you’ll find where people are actually never the same as before but have become better. What appeared as an end has now presented a new beginning.
It's the same way in life. When you are facing hard times that are wounding and wearying you, you have to work so much harder in order to overcome. You cannot just sit down and give up, but instead, must rise up and work, moving forward. Let go of what is behind. Embrace what is and find joy in what is ahead. You will become a stronger, more confident version of the person you were. What was intended for evil can be worked for good.
The wound will heal. What once was will be restored. Something even better may form in its place. You can and will be whole again. It takes complete faith, hope, and belief that God is going to work in your life. He still does, and He always will.
My prayer for you is that you will not grow frustrated by your setbacks and will not let your broken state leave you hopeless and lifeless. Instead, embrace what is hurting you and let the healing begin. Just as Christ suffered death, but then was raised in victory, so shall we suffer sometimes in life, but can be victorious as well. Look to our Heavenly Father for the strength you cannot find on your own. Pray for His healing in His way and in His time. He will restore what is broken. He will bind up the wounds. He will be brought honor and glory and in Him you will find peace and rest.
~May your cup runneth over.~
